In the pre-dawn hours of August 1, 2022, a gathering of friends in an east Las Vegas apartment complex courtyard took a fatal turn, ending the life of 26-year-old Timothy Johnson, a Black male. The group was near a basketball court at the complex on the 1700 block of Marion Drive when a fight broke out. In the ensuing chaos, gunshots rang out just after 4 a.m.
