On the evening of June 9, 1975, Bruce Wrede, a 26-year-old white male, was in his Capitol Hill apartment at 1626 Washington Street in Denver with a friend. Their evening was violently interrupted when they were confronted by multiple individuals in what appeared to be an attempted robbery.

One of the suspects was armed with a weapon. In an effort to thwart the robbery, Wrede was shot by one of the assailants. The individuals immediately fled the scene following the shooting. Emergency ser ...
