Augustus J. Perreira Jr.

On the evening of April 12, 1980, a 27-year-old male Colorado Springs Police Department patrolman, Augustus J. Perreira, Jr., was tragically killed in the line of duty. While on patrol, he was stopped by a clerk from a 7-Eleven store located at 2555 Delta Drive who informed him of a man causing a disturbance inside. Officer Perreira entered the convenience store, unaware that a formal disturbance call had already been made, and began to escort the disruptive individual out.
