On a November evening in 1980, a simple stop for gasoline turned into a fatal encounter for Robert L. Jackson, a 50-year-old Black male. Jackson was at a Vickers gas station located at 3490 Colorado Boulevard when an argument erupted with an unidentified man. The verbal dispute quickly escalated to violence.
The unknown male retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and shot Jackson. In the aftermath of the gunshot, the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle, leaving Jackson grievously wounded.
