In the early hours of March 30, 2008, a grim discovery was made in a Denver alley. A man, later identified as 49-year-old John Chavez, a Hispanic male, was found by officers responding to a 'man down' report in the 200 block of Inca Street. He had sustained significant head wounds and was immediately rushed to a local hospital for medical attention.
