In a Denver alley on a spring evening, the life of Gene Edward Sonny Arnold was brought to a sudden and violent end. It was May 1, 1992, and the 40-year-old White male, known to some as Sonny, was in an alley near the 5100 block of Beach Court and Bryant Street, engaged in conversation with several other men. The ordinary moment turned tragic when one of the men produced a shotgun and fired twice at Arnold, killing him at the scene.
