In a Denver alley on a spring evening, the life of Gene Edward Sonny Arnold was brought to a sudden and violent end. It was May 1, 1992, and the 40-year-old White male, known to some as Sonny, was in an alley near the 5100 block of Beach Court and Bryant Street, engaged in conversation with several other men.
