In the quiet Park Hill neighborhood of Denver, a sense of security was shattered on a late September evening. On September 24, 1997, a family member made a devastating discovery inside a home on Birch Street. Forty-one-year-old Cathy Edwards, a Black female, was found deceased within the familiar walls of her residence. The initial shock of her unexpected death soon gave way to the grim reality of a violent crime.
