In the early hours of May 1, 2005, the parking lot of the Dahlia Shopping Center in Denver, Colorado, became the final scene in the life of Floyd Hafley. A 40-year-old white male, Hafley was discovered injured, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services were called to the scene, and he was quickly transported to a local hospital in an effort to save his life.
Despite the urgent medical attention he received, Hafley's injuries proved to be too severe, and he ultimately
succumbed to them, dying at the hospital. His death was classified as a homicide, launching an investigation by the Denver Police Department. At the time of his death, Hafley was working as an investment specialist for Charles Schwab.
The initial investigation by the Denver Police Department sought to uncover the events that led to the fatal shooting in the shopping center parking lot. However, the perpetrator or perpetrators managed to evade immediate identification. To this day, the individuals responsible for Floyd Hafley's murder have not been identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
