On April 1, 2012, 25-year-old Jimma Reat, a Sudanese immigrant, was tragically shot and killed in Denver, Colorado, after being involved in a road-rage incident. Reat and his companions were driving near 10th and Sheridan when a group in a Jeep Cherokee began harassing them, using racial slurs and throwing bottles.
