In the morning hours of August 18, 2024, a verbal altercation in Denver, Colorado, escalated into a fatal encounter for 26-year-old Efrain Enrique Palacio Delgado. The Hispanic/Latino man was shot and killed near the intersection of W. Arkansas Avenue and S. Knox Court around 9 a.m. The man responsible for the shooting, who was known to Palacio Delgado, immediately fled the scene in a vehicle, setting off a police pursuit.
