In the winter of 2005, a night that began with the energy of a nightclub ended in an abrupt and senseless act of violence that claimed the life of 19-year-old Darryl Hamm. A Black male, Hamm was in a vehicle with others on 17th Avenue in Denver, Colorado, having just departed from Club Beyond in the early hours of December 21st. It was then that a second vehicle pulled alongside them, shattering the night with the sound of gunfire.
