On a summer evening in Denver, Colorado, the life of John Kenneth Garcia, a 36-year-old Hispanic man, was tragically cut short. On July 6, 2002, while driving near the intersection of 30th and Lawrence Streets, Garcia became the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting. Occupants of another vehicle traveling in the same area opened fire, striking him. Urgently transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries several hours later.
