In the late summer of 2014, in Pueblo, Colorado, the life of 37-year-old Clinton Miller was tragically cut short. On the morning of Saturday, September 27, 2014, a dispute on Jackson Street escalated to violence. During the altercation, a 17-year-old male allegedly shot Miller.
Emergency services responded to the scene, and Miller was subsequently flown to a Denver hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
Friends remembered Miller as a dependable and spirited individual, the kind of person who could lift anyone's spirits and was always the life of the party. His death marked the city's 10th homicide of the year.
The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Pueblo Youth Corrections Facility. Initially, he faced charges of second-degree assault and discharge of a firearm. With Miller's death, the investigation transitioned into a homicide case, and it was anticipated that the charges against the teenager would be amended. In addition to the teenage suspect, law enforcement identified 28-year-old Krista Casebolt as a person of interest. Police believed she was in the vicinity when the shooting occurred and might possess crucial information. They also noted that Casebolt had several outstanding warrants.
