In a quiet residence in Grand Junction, Colorado, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of 44-year-old Maria Yolanda Herrera, also known as Maria 'Yolanda' Donjuan-Diaz. On a September day in 2021, the sound of gunshots pierced the air in the 400 block of Chuluota Avenue, prompting a neighbor to make a distressed call to 9-1-1. The arrival of police officers led to a grim discovery inside the home.
