In the cold of a Denver winter, on January 29, 2022, the life of 23-year-old Elijah Kelly was tragically cut short. That evening, gunshots echoed in the vicinity of East Colfax Avenue and North Ogden Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two young men suffering from gunshot wounds. Elijah Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim, 19-year-old Kanajai Burton, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
