In the late summer of 2022, the life of 36-year-old Josip Philley was tragically cut short in Pueblo, Colorado. On the evening of September 26th, Philley, a male resident of the city, was walking along a sidewalk near the intersection of 15th and Blake Streets. In a sudden act of violence, he was struck by a gunshot.
First responders were called to the 1400 block of Baxter Street where they discovered Philley suffering from a serious gunshot wound.
He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to them that same day.
The Pueblo Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into the shooting. In the initial days following the incident, authorities reached out to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of those responsible. At the time, police had not released any information regarding a potential suspect or suspects and were actively searching for leads in the case.
