On March 4, 1999, Sheriff Deputy Kelly Fay Clark, a 38-year-old native of Indiana, tragically lost her life while performing her duties in Sierra County, New Mexico. Clark, who had been living in Truth or Consequences for the past eight years, was transporting an inmate named Michael Archuleta to the Western New Mexico Correctional Facility in Grants.
