On the night of June 26, 2021, 34-year-old Domonique 'Monique' Gonzales was fatally shot outside a residence in the 400 block of East Forest Street in Roswell, New Mexico. Roswell police responded to reports of gunfire around 10:40 p.m. and discovered Gonzales deceased near the front door of the home.

Investigators quickly identified Gonzales's ex-boyfriend, 25-year-old Christopher Nathan Beltran, as the primary suspect. Beltran had been released from prison just four days prior ...
