On June 26, 2022, Melissa Barreras, a 48-year-old resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, lost her life to gun violence. The incident occurred in the vicinity of 98th and Volcano, where officers responded to a shooting call and discovered her deceased body. Along with Melissa, another individual, identified as her husband, Raymond Barreras Jr., was also found deceased, although at a separate location.
