On the evening of August 29, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the life of 38-year-old Hispanic female Barbara Sophronia Chavez, known affectionately as Barbi, was tragically cut short by gun violence. That night, an officer in the vicinity of the 1000 block of Valencia Drive SE heard the sound of multiple gunshots.
