On the evening of January 19, 1999, at approximately 6:35 PM, Ismael Martinez, a 27-year-old male, was discovered with a gunshot wound inside the hallway of a residence at 323 North Front Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported him to St. Luke's Hospital in an effort to save his life. Despite the medical attention he received, Martinez ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
