On the evening of January 2, 2016, a 19-year-old Hispanic male named Omar Wilfredo Reyes from Everett, Massachusetts, received several messages from an acquaintance, Jose Vasquez Ardon, asking to meet up. Despite expressing some reservations about the meeting to a friend, Reyes agreed to go.
