In the late hours of a Friday night in Boston, on November 6, 2020, tragedy struck in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Among the injured was 28-year-old Shawn Rae Hewson of Boston, a Black man.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Hewson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The two other male victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and were expected to survive.
