Jamie Ann Dickinson, a 34-year-old White / Caucasian woman, died in a tragic and violent incident on June 22, 2021, in Oxford, Massachusetts. Her life was cut short in what the Worcester District Attorney's Office identified as an apparent murder-suicide. The man responsible for her death was 38-year-old Jesse A. Brooks.
The events unfolded on a Tuesday evening at a home on Old Webster Road where the couple lived with three children.
Police dispatchers received two separate 911 calls from the residence at the same time and could hear the sound of gunshots in the background. According to the district attorney's office, the investigation concluded that Brooks shot Dickinson before taking his own life.
During the horrific event, Dickinson's 13-year-old son managed to escape with a 4-year-old sibling by jumping from a window. A third child, who was three years old, was later found inside the home by police, physically unharmed. Neighbors reported that they had heard the couple fighting on previous occasions and knew there were firearms in the home. They also indicated that police had been called to the residence in the past for disturbances related to barking dogs. Brooks was known to be an electrician and was the father of the two younger children. Because the suspect, Jesse A. Brooks, died at the scene, there were no arrests made in connection with Jamie Ann Dickinson's death.
