In the early hours of April 10, 2022, the sound of gunfire echoed in the area behind Lynn English High School in Lynn, Massachusetts. When police responded to the reports at approximately 12:50 a.m., they discovered a scene that would soon send ripples of grief through the community. Twenty-year-old Brian Gomez, a Black / African American male from the nearby city of Salem, was found with gunshot wounds.
