On a summer afternoon, a promising young life was tragically cut short. Avion Walton, a 17-year-old Black female, was killed by gunfire in Kansas City, Kansas, on Sunday, June 19, 2022. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of North 25th Street, where police responded to a call and discovered the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Avion was pronounced dead at the scene.
