Rajeeni Bennett, a 39-year-old Black/African American woman, was found deceased in her Kansas City, Kansas, home on the evening of October 28, 2020. Police had responded to a call about a shooting at a residence in the 1700 block of Short Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Bennett inside the home.
Initially, the Criminal Investigations Division of the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department investigated the case as a potential crime.
However, after a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, authorities concluded that her death was accidental.
Due to the determination that the death was accidental, no arrests were made in connection with the incident, and no suspects were identified. The official ruling brought the investigation to a close. Friends and family remembered Rajeeni for her positive attitude and the happiness she brought to those around her.
