Chardae Aunnalee Johnson, a 40-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kansas, was fatally shot on September 12, 2026, during a shooting near North 7th Street and Nebraska Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas. Brown was initially held in Jackson County, Missouri, on a reported $1 million bond while the process of returning him to Kansas was underway. Authorities also arrested 47-year-old Myisha Donaldson in connection with the case. Donaldson was charged with one count of obstruction of apprehension or prosecution. She was initially held in Jackson County on a reported $50,000 bond and, like Brown, waived extradition to Kansas. Subsequent reporting stated that both defendants had been extradited from the Jackson County jail and were being held in Wyandotte County. The obstruction charge against Donaldson does not accuse her of either killing Johnson or directly participating in the shooting; publicly available reports have not detailed the specific conduct prosecutors allege formed the basis of that charge.
