On the evening of August 8, 2022, a tragic shooting incident in Kansas City, Kansas, resulted in the death of 21-year-old Hispanic/Latino female, Brenda Mejia-Bautista. The violence unfolded at approximately 7:30 p.m. at City Park, located at North 32nd Street and Ford Avenue. When the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, they discovered that Mejia-Bautista had been fatally shot. She was pronounced dead at the park.
