In the quiet, early morning hours of August 6, 2017, in Lynn, Massachusetts, the life of 34-year-old Pedro Carillo, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. Carillo, a father of three, was at a Curwin Circle apartment complex when he was fatally shot around 1:54 a.m. The shocking event unfolded in the presence of his own mother, who was engaged in conversation with her son when a man approached and opened fire.
