On the evening of June 7, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet near 987 North Main Street in Brockton, Massachusetts. When the chaos subsided, 25-year-old Nerilson Lopes, a Hispanic male, was found lying in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to his chest. First responders rushed him to Good Samaritan Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead. Another man was also wounded in the incident but survived his non-life-threatening injuries.
