On October 12, 2003, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Cameron Brandice Ware, a 22-year-old resident of Portland, Oregon, was fatally shot in front of his mother's house located in the 5800 Block of NE 18th Avenue. The incident occurred as Ware was standing outside his car in the driveway. Several neighbors reported hearing between five to eight gunshots, which prompted immediate responses from those in the vicinity.
