In the early morning hours of May 29, 2021, the life of Darren Lockett, a 40-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in Portland, Oregon. At approximately 1:05 a.m., Portland Police Bureau officers were dispatched to the intersection of Southeast 132nd Avenue and Southeast Center Street following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Lockett in the street, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
