On a spring day in Portland, Oregon, 10-year-old Luke Tredway, a Caucasian male, left a friend's house on May 23, 1984, for the short walk home. It was a journey he would never complete. When he didn't arrive, his mother, who was pregnant at the time, grew worried and contacted the police. An extensive search involving law enforcement and bloodhounds traced the boy's path to an intersection, where it was believed he either got into a vehicle or onto a bus.
