On May 29, 1994, Eddie Morgan, a well-known and beloved figure in his Portland neighborhood, was shot to death near the corner of NE 42nd Avenue and Alberta Street. Morgan, 46 years old and developmentally challenged, was affectionately referred to as “The Weatherman” due to his habit of sharing weather updates with the local community during his frequent walks.
