Bobby Paul Smallwood, a 44-year-old security guard from Portland, Oregon, was fatally shot on July 22, 2023, at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center. The incident occurred while Smallwood was attempting to escort a man named PoniaX Kanes Calles out of the hospital. Calles, 33, had been at the hospital for about three days because his pregnant partner was there to deliver their baby.
