In the early hours of March 8, 2015, a tragic incident in Portland, Oregon, resulted in the death of 23-year-old Beketel Elbelau Sleeper, a Black/African American male. The event unfolded inside a vehicle where Sleeper was in the company of friends. What was meant to be a time among companions took a devastating turn when a firearm was discharged.
