In the summer of 2020, a young Black man named Mister Ford, 19, was killed in a shooting in the Montavilla neighborhood of Northeast Portland, Oregon. On the night of July 27, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire near Northeast 87th Avenue and Glisan Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mister Ford suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite their efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The following day, the medical examiner determined that Mister Ford's death was a homicide caused by the gunshot wounds. The Portland Police Bureau opened an investigation into the killing, seeking information from the public to help identify who was responsible for the teenager's death.
