On January 2, 2021, a 23-year-old Hispanic male named Christian Martinez lost his life in a shooting that occurred inside a Northeast Portland apartment. The incident unfolded not as a result of a street altercation or a planned act of violence, but within the supposed safety of his own home, at the hands of his younger brother.
