On May 16, 2018, Lisa Marie Miconi-Barnard, a 50-year-old resident of Pennsboro, West Virginia, and formerly of Carolina, was found shot and killed at a residence near Smithburg in Doddridge County. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on that Wednesday.

The investigation into Lisa Barnard's death led authorities to identify her husband as the suspect in what was believed to be a murder-suicide. According to the reports, Lisa Barnard was shot by her husband before he took his own life. ...
