In the summer of 2017, a life was tragically cut short in Greenville, Mississippi. On the evening of July 5th, police responded to a call on Sicily Street and discovered the body of 33-year-old Anthony Lorenzo Edwards in a field. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was sent for an autopsy to officially determine the cause of death. Edwards was a white male.
The investigation into his death moved swiftly, and the Greenville Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division made four arrests in connection with the homicide on the very same day Edwards' body was found. The individuals taken into custody were Fredrick Pearson Jr., who was 17 at the time; 19-year-old Tradarius Robinson; 16-year-old Markiel Norwood; and Timothy Brown, who was just 13. All four were charged with murder. Authorities believed the motive for the killing may have stemmed from an altercation that occurred prior to the shooting.
Following the arrests, the four suspects faced legal proceedings. A Greenville Municipal Judge set the bond for Fredrick Pearson Jr. and Markiel Norwood at $1 million each. The bonds for Tradarius Robinson and Timothy Brown were set at a lower amount of $250,000 each. As of a report later that month, none of the four had posted bail.
