James Richard Moore III, a 42-year-old Black/African American male from Lanark, West Virginia, was fatally shot on Thursday, October 8, 2020. The shooting occurred at a residence located in the 400 block of Midway Road in Lanark. When deputies from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Moore with gunshot wounds. He was transported to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
