In the quiet community of Panther, West Virginia, the life of 52-year-old Jeanine Justice, a Caucasian female, was tragically cut short on August 8, 2022. The incident that led to her untimely death unfolded on Panther Creek Road, forever altering the lives of those involved and leaving a somber mark on the small town.
On that fateful day, authorities were called to a residence where they found a distressed and crying Angelia B. Dotson, 53, sitting in her vehicle.
An apparent altercation had occurred between Dotson and her boyfriend. When Jeanine Justice came out of the residence to check on Dotson, a series of events culminated in a fatal shooting.
From within her vehicle, Dotson allegedly discharged a handgun four times. One of the bullets struck Justice in the upper abdomen. Two other individuals who were outside the home at the time of the shooting fled from the yard as the shots rang out. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and transported Justice to a local hospital for treatment. Despite their efforts, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Angelia B. Dotson was taken into custody and faced serious charges. The McDowell County Sheriff's Department charged her with second-degree murder for the death of Jeanine Justice. Additionally, she was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment, a reflection of the peril faced by the two witnesses who were present at the scene.
