On September 20, 1981, Gregory Snodgrass, a 29-year-old man from the area near Ottumwa, Iowa, was fatally shot at his farmhouse. The events leading to his death involved his estranged wife, Sherryl Ann Snodgrass, and her boyfriend, Michael L. Hood.
