Judy Lamb, a 40-year-old white woman, was found murdered on July 22, 1970, in South Miami, Florida. Her body was discovered alongside that of Blanche Delores Palacino, a 31-year-old white woman and day manager of the Coral Gables Western Union office. Both women had been shot to death and left in an overgrown tomato field, marking a grim conclusion to a violent robbery at the Western Union office.
