On a late summer evening in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the life of 33-year-old Kenneth Everett was tragically cut short. On September 16, 2017, Everett, a Black/African American male, was with his girlfriend, Gabriel Thomas, when gunfire erupted. The shooting, which occurred on the southeast side of the city, left Everett with fatal injuries.
