On January 28, 2022, the body of 22-year-old Kavon Iberheem Johnson was found in the parking lot of Cedar Valley Park, located at 2250 Blakely Blvd. SE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The discovery was made at approximately 7:25 a.m. following a 911 call reporting a person down in the park. Johnson appeared to have died from one or more gunshot wounds, indicating that the incident was a targeted shooting.
