On a late spring day, the body of a 44-year-old Hispanic male named Anthony J. Chavez was discovered on a side road off State Road 189 near mile marker 32 in Wasatch County, Utah. The date was June 28, 1989. An investigation by the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office determined that Chavez had died from multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.
