In the quiet city of Ogden, Utah, the evening of November 12, 1989, was shattered by a tragic event that claimed the lives of an entire family. Nan Heu An, a 34-year-old Asian male, was found deceased in his family's living quarters above their business, Hans Market, located at 730 28th Street. The grim discovery was made after a chilling phone call to police from a relative in Texas, setting in motion a response to a scene of profound domestic violence.
Upon their arrival at
approximately 8:23 p.m., authorities uncovered a heartbreaking tableau. Nan Heu An's body was located on the couch, while his two young children, 6-year-old Phillip and 2-year-old Sarah, were found in a bedroom. All three had been fatally shot once in the head. The investigation determined that the perpetrator was Nan Heu An's wife and the children's mother, 33-year-old Kyu Suhn An.
Kyu Suhn An was discovered inside the grocery store, still alive but with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A. 38 caliber revolver was found nearby. She was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. Prior to taking her own life, Kyu Suhn An had contacted her brother and confessed to the killings.
