On September 4, 2023, a dispute in an Ogden, Utah neighborhood turned deadly, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Royer Peña. The incident began when Brendon Powell, a 25-year-old resident, flew his drone to investigate a commotion coming from a car near his home on Liberty Avenue. The drone hit a tree, and Peña, who was outside his home in the 600 block of 750 North to have a cigarette, retrieved the drone.
